The purpose\nof the study was to identify the recent position of international professional\nbodies of social work related to the natural environment. To achieve\nthis, a literature review was conducted. Main international documents by\nthe International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and the\nInternational Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) were studied and content\nassociated with the natural environment was extracted. Standards and other\ndocuments by international professional bodies, IFSW policy papers, as well as\nrelevant actions and outcomes that expand beyond the professional community\nwere covered. It is clear from the study that the deterioration of the natural\nenvironment such as climate change is having a serious impact on people,\nand social work is increasingly expected to address related issues.
